Hope you are doing well! Welcome to the official blog of the Food Monitoring committee of IIT Kgp. Here we will have all the discussions, comparisons, polls, feedback and a lot more things about all the eateries of our campus. If you ever thought that health and taste cannot go hand in hand in our campus, let us assure you, this committee is there to look after all such intricate matters.

So, what will this committee precisely do? Hmmm… Have you ever walked to Tikkas, wondering what oil is used to make those delicious dosas or rolls? Or, does the quality of the food bother you when you plan to take a break from your mess food and want to eat somewhere else? If yes, then well, this committee has already taken this matter in hand, and did the first surprise raid to all the eateries in the campus. [The report is also attached in the blog]. In future too, there will be regular visits to these eateries and the detail of the quality of the food, the amount of hygiene, the kind of water used etc will all be published in this blog regularly, along with pictures and videos. This will keep you updated with the real picture behind the curtains. Moreover, we want your active participation. You can always discuss about how authentic does the Dal-bati-churma of Vegies tastes… or, where does the alu-paratha best available in the campus.. and more.. And more importantly, if you have a complain, do write us your complain. We promise to look into the matter as fast as possible.. Last but not the least, if you want something more… say, a pizza hut outlet or a good meal canteen… you can always demand for the same.. A huge number of students demanding something can always fasten the process…

Wait…! If you think, that’s the end of it, there’s still surprises left for you my friend ! Here, you will also have an assorted list of all the eateries, with their numbers and menu card. You will also get the assorted list of couriers in our campus, and their timing, the xerox stores with their rates, the travel-agents’ list, and more….

What are you wondering? Why haven’t you ever heard of it before? Well… after working silently for quite some time, we wanted to come in public, and get connected to all of you, know your likes, your grievances, and your demand..

    Committee Agendas


    • The committee will regulate the prices of food items at food outlets within the campus premises.
    • The committee will ensure proper and comestible quality of food items.
    • The committee will ensure the upkeep of cleanliness and hygiene inside the pantry.
    • The committee will ensure the maintenance of tidiness of the dining area.
    • The committee will look after the quality and use of raw materials.
    • The committee will entertain and act upon the complaints and suggestions from the consumers, comprising mainly of students.
    • The committee will rate all the food outlets as per the taste, quality, cleanliness, reviews and hygiene conditions.
    • Keeping in view the increasing strength of students at IIT campus and the raising demands, the committee will make efforts to bring popular food-chains and restaurants to venture into the IIT campus.
